How LocalBest checks and lists businesses

Who is listed

A business is listed on a town's page only when its records place it in that town and it meets the check for its trade:

A page says a business serves a town only when the business itself says so. A business listed because its license address is in the town reads "licensed, with an address in" that town.

How the list is ordered

Every list is alphabetical by business name among the businesses that pass the check for their trade. Nothing else orders a list. If ratings or other signals are ever used to order a list, this page will say exactly how before any list changes.

Not for sale

Nobody pays to be listed or to move up. The order is never sold, and a business that meets the check is listed whether or not it pays for anything.

Members

Cone Red sells marketing to some listed businesses. Wherever such a business is named, the word Member appears in the same sentence as its name, for example: Example Roofing LLC, a LocalBest Member, holds Florida CCC license CCC0000000. Being a Member does not affect whether or where a business is listed. No listed business is sold reviews or help asking customers for reviews.

Dates

"Data checked" on a page is the oldest check date among the facts that page shows, so a page never claims a fresher check than its oldest fact. "Last verified" after a business is the oldest check date among that business's facts. A page that is rebuilt without new checks keeps its dates.
